3. The Old Jewish Cemetery – Prague

From 1439 until 1787, Jews in Prague were buried in The Old Jewish Cemetery. The tombstones are scattered across the plot of land, and many of them are stacked haphazardly on top of each other. Since the Jewish faith doesn’t permit the transferring the dead, the 100,000 deceased, many of which are buried under 12 layers of tombstones, must remain in this messy position until the end of time.
