2. This Bird Was More of a Hendrix Fan

In his autobiography Cash: The Autobiography, iconic country singer Johnny Cash revealed that, in 1981, he was nearly murdered by an ostrich. See, the singer had a penchant for collecting wild animals; among that menagerie was a male ostrich with a particularly bad attitude. In one instance, the bird menaced Cash, who decided to pick up a large stick and swing at the bird. The ostrich dodged Cash’s attack, kicking the icon with his talon-covered feet. According to Cash, “frankly, I got off lightly. All he did was break my two lower ribs and rip my stomach open down to my belt, If the belt hadn’t been good and strong, with a solid belt buckle, he’d have spilled my guts exactly the way he meant to.”
