2. “Just cheer up!”

As though it’s entirely possible for a person to flip a “happiness” switch and immediately course correct. If that were possible, then being a human would be the easiest job in the known universe. Unfortunately the chemicals that control our brain and our emotions are still largely outside of everyone’s control (I mean, really, who’s totally in control of their emotions?), and that issue is compounded with someone who’s clinically depressed.
